The Realities of The Human Experience

I know I say this a great deal, but it is so, so true:

"You're not a leader first....you are a human being."

I don't say that as an excuse for a leader to display poor decision-making processes or bad behavior. I say that as a rationale for a leader to understand that they are not immune from making the same mistakes they work so hard to train-out of others.

Leadership is an on-going battle between the forces that tell us what we are capable of....

And the realities of what we currently are.
